SPCA
What is SPCA?
SPCA helps protect approximately 45,300 animals in New Zealand every year. Animals who are sick, injured, lost, abused or simply abandoned. We are the only charity with the power to protect all animals
How did it begin?
SPCA began in England in the 19th century .The first law to protect animals was passed in 1822 after a long struggle by several people including William Wilberforce and Richard Martin. In 1824 Rev Arthur Broome formed SPCA in London. These three men, with others, proceeded to make many performances for breaches of the new Act.
How is SPCA funded?
As a charity, SPCA receives only 1% of its funding from the New Zealand government. As a result, SPCA relies almost entirely on the generosity of the public to carry out their life.Thank you for reading the post hope you enjoyed
Kia ora Rylee,
ReplyDeleteIt is always great to read your posts. I hope you are enjoying your holidays so far :)
Well done for completing this activity and I like that you have chosen to write about the SPCA charity too. They do an amazing job looking after animals in need. Just a reminder for future posts, remember to put information you find into your own words. You cannot just copy and paste from the internet. You could also give your post a little bit of “wow” factor if you wanted to use images or colours. Just a suggestion :).
I really hope you are having a fabulous day. I am looking forward to reading more of your posts over the summer.
Leisha :)
